AM/PM Quartet

The AM/PM Saxophone Quartet is dedicated to the promotion of new music and young composers, in an effort to expand the saxophone quartet repertoire through recitals and outreach and to bring contemporary music to a larger audience through engaging performances, audience interaction, and casual performance venues. Formed in the fall of 2007, AM/PM is based in Baltimore, MD and is comprised of diverse saxophonists from the Peabody Conservatory. In May of 2008, AM/PM presented a concert of new music by young composers at An Die Musik, an established music venue in Baltimore. The program contained 6 pieces written within the last five years, including two commissioned works and a world premiere. AM/PM is proud to have had each composer in attendance, discussing their work with the audience both during the concert and at a reception afterwards.

AM/PM has performed at local community venues and was selected in 2008 to perform on The Peabody Conservatory’s Thursday Noon concert series. In spring of 2009, AM/PM will be collaborating with the new opera group Rhymes With Opera and will premiere works by Ruby Fulton/George Lam (founders of Rhymes with Opera), Thomas Limbert (member of pulsoptional, a composers collective), Ying-Chen Kao (recipient of a 2006 Encore Grant from the American Composers Forum), and Nick Anderson (student of Christopher Theofanidis).
